YU Yutopia with Snapdragon 810 SoC, 4GB RAM launching soon

Micromax subsidary YU Televentures has been competing with Chinese  manufacturer by launching smartphone under Rs. 10,000 price range packing decent specs. The company debut with Yu Yureka, followed by Yu Yuphoria, Yureka Plus and Yu Yunique, all mid-range phones with affordable price tag. Now the company is gearing to enter the high-end smartphone market with the launch of its flagship device with powerful specs.

YU Yutopia will be the company's next flagship offering and is being touted to be the world's most powerful smartphone ever. It will be manufactured in India, and will most likely be available in time for Diwali, that is November. YU Yutopia is said to be a flagship killer and will be competing against OnePlus 2.

In addition, Rahul Sharma, Founder, YU Televentures in a tweet said "After the minion monster #YUNIQUE can't wait to present the #Real Beast. Let the countdown begin." hinting that the company will soon out a high-end smartphone.

There are no official details about YU Yutopia's specs, but a YU device with model number YU5050 packing flagship-level specs was spotted on Geekbench and AnTuTu revealing most of the specs.

As per the listing, YU Yutopia (YU5050) will sport 5.2-inch (1440 x 2560 pixels) Quad HD display and equipped with 1.5GHz octa-core Snapdragon 810 (MSM8994) processor with 4GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage, further expandable via microSD card slot. There is a 21-megapixel camera on the back accompanied by LED flash and 8-megapixel front facing camera. The dual-SIM phone runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop based on Cyanogen OS 12.1 and supports 4G LTE, dual-band WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS.

As for the pricing, Indian import/export site, Zauba reveals that YU Yuphora (Yu5050) was imported to India for testing and had a declared value of Rs. 20,752, before taxes and other charges, so it could be priced under Rs. 25,000 when it hits the market.

The YU Yutopia will surely be a game changer in the Indian smartphone market. It will be interesting to see how its stands up against the likes of Samsung, HTC, Sony, Motorola and LG in the high-end smartphone market.
