Microsoft showcases updated Office apps for iPad Pro, iOS 9 and watchOS 2
Microsoft''s upcoming updated office apps will be available for the iPad Pro, iOS 9 and watchOS 2. It will bring a number of new features for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook and Translator.
To start off, iOS 9 gets 'Slide Over' and 'Split View' functions which allows users to access two Office apps side by side on the same screen. You can create a presentation in PowerPoint and take notes in Word at the same time. The Office apps will further get support for the Apple Pencil stylus which will let make it easier to create documents and collaborate with other. The Smart Keyboard will also get support for Office.
Microsoft will also add a feature called "Intelligent Search" which will let you search results from OneNote and Outlook at the same time. Office apps will also bring support for wireless keyboard, which will let iPad users be more productive.
For Apple Watch, the Outlook app will show you information about your next appointment and new email. The Time Travel feature will let you check for future appointments and calendar entries using the digital crown. The Microsoft Translator app which was introduced in August will be able to replay pinned translation through the Watch's speakers.
Apple's iPad Pro will go on sale in November and the base price will start at $799. iOS 9 will start rolling out to compatible devices on September 16.
