Pebble introduces its first round smartwatch, the Pebble Time Round

Pebble has announced its first circular smartwatch, the Pebble Time Round. The company claims that Pebble Time Round is 'thinnest and lightest smartwatch in the world' as it is 7.5mm thin and weighs just 28g.

Pebble Time Round will be available in a variety of band sizes and designs, as well as watch finishes. Band options include 20mm and 14mm which includes Black and Silver finish. There is also a special-edition Rose Gold finish which is exclusive to 14mm band size. It also comes with quick-change bands in genuine leather  and metal band options which will be available later this year.

It sports an always-on, easy-to-read, color e-paper display and works with Android and iPhone. It has a Microphone for responding to notifications or taking short voice notes and is compatible with all 6,500+ existing Pebble apps and watchfaces. You can also control music.

The smartwatch features a quick-charging battery that lasts up to two days on a single charge. Charging for 15 minutes will provide a day of use, while a full charge takes about 45 minutes. The smartwatch will also come with splash resistance (IPX7 water resistance).

Pebble's Time Round prices starts at $249 (Rs 16,500) and can be reserved at Pebble.com (shipping worldwide), Best Buy, Target, and Amazon. It will start shipping and will be available at US and Canadian retailer in early November. Retail availability in the UK will begin later this year, follow by EU retailer in early 2016.

"Pebble Time Round looks different from anything we’ve ever made before and is the perfect addition to our growing product lineup. It’s the first smartwatch that looks like a classic wristwatch and furthers our mission to create useful technology that blends into your everyday life, not the other way around. We recognize that wearable technology can't be one-size-fits-all and are fiercely committed to offering unique choices that suit individual style and expression." said Eric Migicovsky, CEO, Pebble.
