Apple reports record 13 million iPhone 6s and 6s Plus sales,  launching in India on October 16
Apple has outed a press release stating that it will roll out iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus worldwide to more than 40 additional countries and territories, starting October 9. Apple also announced that it had sold more than 13 million iPhone 6s and 6s Plus during their first weekend of availability in 12 markets

Apple's new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus will land in India on October 16, just in time for the festive season. On the same day it will also be released in Malaysia and Turkey.

On Octorber 9, it will be made available in Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Greenland, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Isle of Man, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Maldives, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Taiwan

Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates will get these smartphones on October 10th. By the end of the year,  the new iPhone devices will roll out to over 130 countries.

That's not all, Apple also revealed that it has sold more than 13 million units of the new iPhone withing three days of launch. The company broke last year's record of 10 million units sold. 

“Sales for iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus have been phenomenal, blowing past any previous first weekend sales results in Apple’s history,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. “Customers’ feedback is incredible and they are loving 3D Touch and Live Photos, and we can’t wait to bring iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus to customers in even more countries on October 9.”

Apple iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus were announced on September 9. On September 25 it went on sale in 12 countries including Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Singapore, the UK and the US. 

The iPhone 6 had set the previous record of 10 million unit sales in its first weekend. The new iPhones have improved cameras and a display technology called 3D Touch, which responds based on how hard users press their screens.
